PROCEDURE

Interested directors must submit a Director Submissions Form including the play/musical, which they would like to be considered to direct in our 2025 season. The following shows are available for director submissions:

  • All Shook Up (submissions for this show are due by 9/15/2024)

  • Moon Over Buffalo

  • Seussical the Musical

  • Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella

  • Damn Yankees

  • West Side Story

  • The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical

 Please include the following with your submissions:

  • Your theatrical (primarily directing) resume. Please start with the most recent first.

  • Your vision for the show you are wanting to direct

    • Present a clear concept of your staging of the play/ musical

    • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the play/ musical and its complexities.

    • Provide clear vision for casting (i.e., gender, age, race, etc.)

  • A list of any potential production staff you would like to work with.

  • Any additional information that you believe will aid in the evaluation of your proposal.

PROCESS

After applications have been submitted, you will receive an automated email that your submission is completed. Submissions will be reviewed by both the CFTA leadership team and our Artistic Council. Both will use a scoring rubric during the selection process.

SELECTION

Once selected, each candidate will receive notice by November 1st.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

The Center for the Arts is open to considering all director submissions regardless of experience. Directors should be aware that other directors may also be submitting proposals for some of the plays in our 2025 season.

The Center for the Arts appreciates the time, willingness and effort of all directors who offer submissions. Submissions are open now and will close on October 1, 2024. (Submissions for All Shook Up will close on 9/15/24).

 

The Director Role and all production team roles are unpaid unless the CFTA Leadership chooses to make a change based on a particular need for the production.
