Education
Visual Arts
In cooperation with the Murfreesboro City Schools, an art competition is exhibited and judged in the Center Gallery each year.
Performing Arts
Through Spring Spotlight and Center Stage Academy, children are taught performance skills. Professional instructors teach classes in voice, dance, and acting. Each class lasts for 10 days, culminating in a production put on by the children on the Saturday following the last day of class. Be sure to sign up for our mailing list and stay informed of our latest classes and camps.
Four youth shows are produced each year involving children up to the age of 18. Such shows have included Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Charlie Brown, Seussical the Musical, The Reluctant Dragon, and Aladdin Jr. to name just a few.
Art Gallery
The Gallery is the most diverse space at the Center. It has hosted works of art created by children and seniors, professionals and amateurs alike. We have hosted exhibits of photography, paintings, hand-crafted art and sculpture. We have hosted an exhibit of the Dead Sea Scrolls and performed cabarets in this space. In October 2009, the CFTA Gallery successfully ran a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater performance of Southern Fried Murder, directed by Cyndie Verbeten and catered by Outback Steakhouse. This event was so popular we added an encore performance. The Center plans on holding more dinner theaters in the future. Please email Tony Cimino with any theatrical suggestions. The gallery is often used for auditions and rehearsals after hours.
Often the Gallery has been used for wedding receptions, birthday celebrations, corporate events as well as many other civic, corporate and private functions. Learn more about renting the Gallery here.
