Camps
The Center for the Arts’ Spring Break Spotlight and Center Stage Academy are day camps for children in grades 1 through 12. At the camps the students learn many aspects of the theater and the performing arts. The first half of the day consists of three classes (music, dance and acting/theater orientation). The students in the senior session will also dab in the technical aspects of set, lighting, costume, and make-up design and application. The second half of the day is spent in rehearsals of an actual mini-musical production. Act I of the “performance” showcases some of the things that they learn in their classes. These numbers and scenes carry on the theme of “show business”. Act II will be the actual mini-musical.
